Itinerary:
Day 01: Kathmandu (1,300m) – Lhasa (3,650m):
Fly Trans – Himalayan flight to Tibet (Gongaar airport) (1hr.) Drive to Lhasa (1hr.) – Full rest for a acclimatization – Hotel.
Day 02: In Lhasa:
AM: visit Potala Palace PM: visit Jokhang Temple & Barkhor Bazaar – Hotel.
Day 03: In Lhasa:
AM: Visit Drepung Monastery PM: Visit Sera Monastery – Hotel.
Day 04: Lhasa – Gyantse (3,950m); 261km:
Drive to Gyantse via Yamadroke Lake and high passes: Kora LA (5,010m) & Kamba La (4,794m) – Hotel.
Day 05: Gyantse – Xigatse (3,900m): 90km
AM: Sight-seeing in Gyantse including Pholkor & Kumbum Monasteries, etc. PM: scenic drive to Xigatse(1.5hrs) through the typical Tibetan Countryside – Hotel.
Day 06: Xigarse – Tingri (4,100m): 270km
AM: Visit Panchen Lama’s Tashilhumpu Monastery. PM: Drive to Tingri crossing over Gyatchula (a pass of 5,200m) – hotel.
Day 07: Tingri – Ronbuk (4,980m): Aprox 90km
Scenic drive to Ronbuk through the beautiful Tibetan countryside. Explore Ronbuk Monastery (highest monastery in the world) – Guest House.
Day 08: Ronbuk – Everest BC – Ronbuk (4+4 km)
Rent a horse cart or walk to the Everest BC and explore around – back to Ronbuk – Guest house.
Day 09: Ronbuk – Nyalam (3,700m)/ Zhangmu (2,300m): 350km/335km
Drive back to Tingri and further to Nyalam by over-crossing the high pass of lulang La (5,050m) from where one can enjoy the magnificent view of the Mt. Xishapagma (8,212m) & Mt. Cho Oyu (8,201m) and have overnight at Nyalam or continue journey to Zhangmu through the winding mountainous road with hundreds of waterfalls – Guest House in Nayalam/ Hotel in Zhangmu.
Day 10: Nyalam/Zhangmu – Kathmandu: 155km/123km
After necessary border formalities, continue scenic drive to Kathmandu through the green lush countryside- transfer to your hotel. End of tour.
